Adult Classes

The Test Valley School of Dance Adult classes (16+ years) are an enjoyable way to increase fitness, strength and flexibility. The classes help to improve dance technique and creativity, and are led by experienced and qualified teachers in a professional, friendly environment.

Adult Ballet

Our Adult ballet classes provide a fun and satisfying way to improve muscle tone, flexibility and co-ordination as well as learning classical ballet technique, in a fun social environment. Classes are aimed at those who already possess some understanding of dance and or classical ballet technique (this includes those who may have had a break from ballet for a while). Breathable and comfortable clothing is advised along with ballet shoes or socks.

Adult Tap

Tap is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of dance there is. A lively fun class, where all abilities learn technique and style whilst learning routines set to varied engaging music styles. Tap can be both gentle and lively making it a fun, rhythmical and enjoyable way to keep fit. All abilities welcome. You will need to wear breathable and comfortable clothes (not jeans) and bottoms which do not touch the floor. Footwear can be any style of Tap shoe or low heel boots (ideally not rubber sole).

Floor Barre

A ballet barre class executed on the floor. This class will lengthen, strengthen, align and tone your body with ballet and Pilates inspired exercises. This class is perfect for anyone seeking a dancer’s body! No ballet or dance experience is required! Doing these exercises on the floor improves posture and body awareness in turn improving any work done standing. It’s also non weight-bearing so is great for people with or recovering from injuries! You will need an exercise mat and the class can be done in bare feet or socks.

VeraFlow®

This low impact, dance fitness class combines stretching and dance moves together to help you improve the tone of your muscles, your balance and flexibility. VeraFlow® is unique in that it combines both dynamic and static yoga/ballet inspired stretches with dance movements and beautiful music. Part of the class will focus on movement and balance exercises as well as standing stretches and the remainder of the class is usually taken on the floor, focusing on deeper stretches. You will need an exercise mat and the class can be done in bare feet or yoga socks.

Zumba

Zumba® is a Workout in disguise! It's a Latin inspired Dance Fitness Class which blends red-hot international music, and easy to follow contagious dance moves to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive. If you feel intimidated by the gym or you are just simply looking for something different, something to alleviate the daily stress, something good for the soul, a real party ambiance, new friends, a Zumba class at the Test Valley School of Dance is it!!

Adult Class Pricing

  • All adult classes are £6 PAYG
  • Discount cards are available in multiples of 6 or 12 classes.
  • Each class is £5 with a discount card
  • Pay in advance by bank transfer or on the day by cash cheque or debit or credit card

Class Requirements

  • Comfortable, breathable, loose-fitting clothing
  • Appropriate footwear, applicable to the class
  • Water Bottle & Towel
  • *Trousers must be ankle length for Tap Class
  • **An exercise mat is required for VeraFlow / Floor Barre
